The MWC tries to bring you all flavours of the medium wave experience.
That experience is one of sounds, images and text – and even video!
Fortunately we can combine all these elements and store them on CD's.
Currently every year we produce an archive CD based around the complete
volume of Medium Wave News. Volumes 48, onwards are available on CD.
We also have several other CDs which may be of interest to you.You do
not need to be a Circle member to order these CD's.

For maximum enjoyment you will need software to handle .pdf, .mp3, .wav and .xls files. For the video you’ll need Real Player™ and Windows Media Player™. To read Medium Wave News you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader™. The audio clips are formatted for computer reading and so are not suitable for most audio CD players. You can transfer the audio clips to any portable mp3 player.

Volume 51: 2005-6
This edition contains 596 pages of Medium Wave News from April 2005 to
March 2006. This is the biggest ever volume of Medium Wave News
2005 was an excellent year for long distance MW DX and numerous UK
Firsts were heard. The vast majority are included on this CD
as mp3 files. Over 140 unique audio clips are included here.
In addition the 2006 CD includes:

Volume 50: 2004-5
This edition contains 548 pages of Medium Wave News from April 2004 to
March 2005. And as a bonus Volume 48 (April 2002- March 2003) is included
as a free extra.
This CD also includes more than 100 audio clips of DX catches heard in
the UK in 2004 including most so-called "DX Firsts". In addition there
are recordings from numerous other stations including the 1960’s
UK offshore pirates Radios City and London.

Volume 48: 2002-3
The ten issues of Medium Wave News from this year are available as a bonus extra on the Volume 50 CD.
UK and Ireland LW and MW Transmitters 2nd Edition
Over the years information about LW & MW transmitters operating in
the UK & Ireland has been fragmented, incomplete or out of date.
More recently the Internet has augmented the printed medium but still
it is exceedingly difficult to get all information in one place.
In an attempt to improve matters this CD contains data about radio transmitters
operating on Long and Medium Wave frequencies; in essence every transmitter
in the UK and Ireland operating below 1700kHz.
The CD contains the following:
In addition it includes direct linking to the Internet which will take
you to a station's own website and to a detailed on-line mapping service
that will show you on an Ordnance Survey map where the transmitter is
physically located.
The CD is fully interactive and uses links to ensure you can quickly find
the info you need. The main station listing uses a spreadsheet that you
can sort and filter data as you wish.

Radio Caroline 1983-1987
This is a double CD set of original off air recordings of Radio Caroline
in mp3 format made between 1983 & 1987 and contains 50+ hours! Included

Laser 558 1984-1986
MV Communicator
This is a double CD in mp3 format of original off air recordings of Laser
558, the famous offshore radio pirate, made between 1984 & 1986. Included
in the 35+ hours is a 90 minute test transmission from the Communicator
on 729 kHz in February 1984. There are 3 hours from Laser 558’s
official opening day on 24th May 1984, 1 hour from Steve Masters and 2

There are many hours of Sixties Sunday programming from various DJ’s

SONY ICF2010/ICF2001D ARCHIVE CD
2005 represented the 21st Anniversary of Sony creating the amazing ICF2010/2001D
radio which is the best selling shortwave radio ever. Over the 21 years
that the 2001D/2010 has been around, a huge amount of information has
appeared in print & on the web, much of which is no longer available.
For that reason Steve Whitt compiled a comprehensive archive CD which
is now available exclusively through the Circle.

This CD was compiled by member Steve Whitt and is distributed by the
Medium Wave Circle. Any profits made from this CD are divided equally
between the author and the MWC.
Reprint CD
Over the years the Circle reprint service has provided paper copies of
articles that have appeared in MWN's. The rising costs of postage and
copying now makes this service unviable. We have now scanned all the 240+
titles, approx. 1400 pages, in the reprint catalogue in PDF format onto
a double CD. Now you can view and/or print out any reprint you wish.
On this CD, there are seperate sections covering Antenna Topics, General
Topics, Radio History, Interference, Operating Technigues, Propagation,
Equipment Reviews, Technical Articles and DX-peditions.

Offshore Radio Collection CD
Our latest CD, The Offshore Radio Collection, features several hours
of recordings from Radio Caroline North, recordings from Radio Caroline
South, Radio Atlanta, Radio City, Radio England & Radio 227. From
1962, there are a couple of shows from the Scandinavian offshore station
Radio Nord. There are 3 hours from the 1997 Radio London RSL broadcasting
off the Essex coast. From BBC Radio Humberside, there is a feature programme
about Radio Northsea International, and from BBC Radio York, there are
several hours of their recent tribute programme to Radio 270. Plus much

Wave News continued to be edited by Ken Brownless for the whole of this
decade.
In 1974 Ken restricted membership of the Circle to "invited members" only,
a policy that continued for a few years. Each issue averaged 12 pages.

period 1970 - 1974 and 1975 - 1979.

Wave News continued to be edited by Ken Brownless until his sudden death
in September 1984. MWN's may well have died with him, but was rescued
by Charles Molloy, Dr. Harold Emblem, Ed Baker and Bill Shaw. Charles
took over as editor but sadly also died after one issue was published
in April 1985.
MWN's continued under Steve Whitt until a new Editor, Ed Baker was appointed
in 1986, followed by Mick Hudson.
